Our Approach

Mentoring changes lives! It is our passion to encourage, love and direct young women in their life’s journey and to help them to find their purpose. The purpose is for each young woman to love and respect themselves and to be the best they can be in Christ. The process is bringing young women of various ethnicities, backgrounds, strengths, and weaknesses together to share their struggles, concerns, life situations and successes with one another. This engagement cultivates self-worth, self-image and self-esteem, so they can dare to dream of who they want to become

Our Process

Petals & Pinecones is a Christ-Centered non-denominational, mentoring program designed to meet a specific need that is not currently being met in the Greater Lansing area. There is no other organization in the Lansing area that specifically serves young women ages 13 to 24. Our mission is to mentor young women who come from various backgrounds and ethnicity that share similar struggles, ideals, and beliefs in order to foster trust.

Petals & Pinecones is an organization that provides a safe outlet for young women. Safe from judgment, misunderstanding, gossip and other things that could damage their self-esteem. The group mentoring setting allows the young women to build positive relationships with other young women while also providing real solutions to problems that young women face in today's society.
